Ms. Labay specializes in litigation and represents clients in a wide array of disputes. She has appeared before courts, including the Supreme Court and Sandiganbayan, and other administrative and quasi-judicial bodies, such as the Office of the Ombudsman, Securities and Exchange Commission, Energy Regulatory Commission and the Commission on Elections. She handles civil, criminal, commercial, tax, administrative and public interest cases, and also advises clients on family disputes, settlements of estate, nullity of marriages, and adoption.
She has also assisted clients in various corporate special projects, including the negotiation and execution of an out-of-court informal rehabilitation plan, and the representation of an automated election technology provider in a government bidding project.
Prior to re-joining the Firm, she served as a legislative staff officer in the House of Representatives where she participated in the drafting of significant legislations, including the Mental Health Act.
She is also a Trained Arbitrator at the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc.
Ms. Labay teaches in the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law, the UP C.E. Virata School of Business, and San Sebastian College Recoletos Manila College of Law. She also volunteers as a Supervising Lawyer at the UP Office of Legal Aid, which provides free legal assistance to indigent clients.
Ms. Labay graduated among the top students of her class, and was a member of the UP College of Law’s Order of the Purple Feather
She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2012 and is a member of the Makati City Chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the UP Women in Law Circle.
