ACCRALAW’s Labor Law Panel at the In-House Congress

On 5 September 2019, a team representing the Firm’s Labor and Employment Department consisting of Emerico O. de Guzman, Joy Anne C. Leong-Pambid, and Franchesca Abigail C. Gesmundo shared their insights during the panel discussion entitled “Significant Updates in Labor Law” during the 2019 In-House Congress. This talk was attended by officers and members of the ASIAN-MENA Counsel – InHouse Community and it was held at Raffles and Fairmont Hotel in Makati City.

Mr. De Guzman, the Firm’s Managing Partner and who formerly headed the Labor and Employment Department, discussed the different and newly filed versions of the Security of Tenure Bill.

Ms. Leong-Pambid, a Partner, discussed the Expanded Maternity Leave, its implementing rules and regulations, and the related issuances of the Department of Labor and Employment and Social Security System.

Ms. Gesmundo, a Senior Associate, discussed the amendment to the article on service charges in the Labor Code, the Telecommuting Act and its implementing rules and regulations, and the new rules governing alien employment work permits.
