The webinar discussed the recent laws and rulings which impact the application and enforcement of the competition law in the Philippines. Among the recent developments discussed were the recently passed Bayanihan II Act and the Supreme Court decision lifting the nationality restriction in the construction industry. Ms. Herbosa and Mr. Recalde also addressed the pressing issues relating to the Revised Corporation Code.
Ms. Herbosa specializes in complex commercial and securities litigation, anti-trust and competition law, and banking and finance. Prior to re-joining ACCRALAW in 2019, she served as the Chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Commission from 2011 to 2018.
Mr. Recalde is the Head of the Firm’s Tax Department. He specializes in taxation law, mergers and acquisitions, and anti-trust and competition law. He is recognized by legal publications as a leading lawyer for Tax in the Philippines.
Ms. Herbosa and Mr. Recalde authored the book entitled, “The Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines (Its Theories and Applications)” which was released in June 2019.
