The Asian Legal Business (ALB) recognizes the top tier law firms and in-house teams in different jurisdictions. Last 20 November 2020, the ALB held the Philippine Law Awards and among the awards given to ACCRALAW is the Litigation Law Firm of the Year.
With the growing field of litigation practitioners from boutique to institutional law firms, clients are presented with varied choices to suit their requirements. However, for disputes, ACCRALAW has remained to be the top-of-mind firm to represent clients before trial and appellate courts. ACCRALAW does not rely on its track record in litigation but always strives to improve its services by providing carefully thought of litigation strategies.
Its recent notable cases include the recovery of more than Php1 Billion in advance rental payments on behalf of a foreign investor from a government-owned and controlled corporation after the lease agreement was unilaterally voided. The Firm also defended the investment of a health-related business subsidiary in a leading retail pharmacy in Western Visayas and prevented the issuance of injunctive relief sought by an opposing shareholder.
The Firm’s litigation practice covers civil, contractual, and commercial disputes. The Firm also assists clients in its internal investigations or represents clients in administrative investigations and legislative inquiries. In protecting their clients’ interests, there were cases that entailed defending the validity of existing rules or issuances of regulators that were being challenged for its constitutionality.
At the helm of the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department is Senior Partner Leland R. Villadolid, Jr.
