Due to the pandemic, the formal conferment ceremony of “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon” by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan upon ACCRALAW’s Of Counsel Eusebio V. Tan has been deferred. Considering that restrictions have eased, the formal conferment ceremony with reception pushed through last 31 May 2022 at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan, Koshikawa Kazuhiko.
The recognition is awarded to “those who have made distinguished achievement in international relations, promotion of Japanese culture, advancements in their field, and development in welfare or preservation of the environment.”
Mr. Tan’s contributions in improving the Philippine legal landscape allowing more foreign direct investments, particularly from Japanese investors, was recognized. He also served as Co-Chairman of the Philippines-Japan Economic Cooperation Committee (PHILJEC) where he has advocated for the promotion of the Philippines as a viable investment location.
Mr. Tan is recognized by various legal publications as a leading lawyer for investment, mergers and acquisitions, and banking and finance. He also served as Managing Partner of ACCRALAW from 2003 to 2014.
