ACCRALAW acted as Philippine counsel to global private equity firm, Warburg Pincus, in connection with its acquisition of 60% of MAPFRE Insular Insurance Corporation (MIIC), a non-life insurance company offering general insurance for optimum financial protection and risk management. The Insular Life Assurance Company, Ltd. (Inlife) also purchased an additional 15% of MIIC raising its equity to 40%. The Insurance Commissioner approved the acquisition of control of MIIC by Warburg Pincus and Inlife.
