ACCRALAW’s Cebu Branch held its annual legal forum last 5 July 2023 at the Cebu City Sports Club, Cebu Business Park. It was attended by 135 participants from the leading local and multinational companies in Cebu and the region.
Cebu Branch Head and Senior Partner Ma. Iolanda B. Abella welcomed the attendees and introduced the lawyers of the branch.
Senior Associate Therese Marie P. Amor and Associate Joshua L. Monsanto discussed Labor Compliance Updates on valid and reasonable policies and mandatory policies in the workplace. They also discussed Department of Labor and Employment Order No. 238-2023 or the Rules on the Administration and Enforcement of Labor Standards Pursuant to Article 128 of the Labor Code of the Philippines.
Associates Khen C. Aquino and Duane Michaels U. Po also discussed Legalities of Digitalization, as well as updates on the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises or CREATE Act, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (“BIR”) Online Registration and Update System (“ORUS”). The ORUS allows taxpayers to process or update their BIR registration information online.
After the open forum, Partner Eduardo V. Soleng, Jr. closed the event and thanked the clients for participating in ACCRALAW Cebu’s Afternoon Tea and for their continued support to the Firm.
