On 28 July 2023, ACCRALAW Partner and Head of the Tax Department Eric R. Recalde, Senior Associate Fatima Faye E. Cordova, and Associates Kevin John B. Lumbre and Kaye Geozen T. Ebuengan met with Philippine Economic Zone Authority (“PEZA”) Director General Tereso O. Panga and his team at the PEZA Headquarters in Pasay City.
ACCRALAW has been representing various clients with business interests in the Philippines, particularly as PEZA locators and investors. The Firm has been working with the PEZA on different issues with the common objective of rationalizing and improving the processes of doing business in these PEZA special economic zones or ecozones.
The PEZA is among the country’s Investment Promotion Agencies mandated to “extend assistance, register, grant incentives to, and facilitate the business operations of investors in export-oriented manufacturing and service facilities inside selected areas throughout the country proclaimed by the President of the Philippines as PEZA [ecozones]”.
