ACCRALAW recently participated in TerraLex’s 2024 Asia-Pacific Regional Meeting held last 16 to 17 May 2024. TerraLex member firms of the Asia Pacific Region sent delegates to this two-day gathering held at Shangri-La Singapore.
Delegates in the meeting discussed the latest business developments in the region. ACCRALAW Partner Eric R. Recalde, together with representatives of other member firms from China, Australia, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore, participated in a panel discussion on Legal Considerations for Direct Investment in the Asia Pacific Region. Mr. Recalde shared recent legislations and issuances aimed at promoting foreign investments in the Philippines. He also gave his insights on how to benefit from available incentives and navigate various regulatory requirements. Other topics were also presented during the conference, specifically the modes of pursuing claims and enforcing foreign judgments in the United States, the Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) challenges in the Asia Pacific, and the Generative Artificial Intelligence developments in the legal profession.
