ACCRALAW acted as counsels in the investment by Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, Limited (“SMFL”) in RCBC Leasing and Finance Corporation (“RLFC”). On 24 August 2026, SMFL and RLFC completed their transaction resulting in SMFL’s subscription to One Billion Three Hundred Eleven Million Sixty-Two Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty-Nine (1,311,062,889) newly issued Class B Common Shares of RLFC, representing thirty percent (30%) of RLFC’s outstanding capital stock.
SMFL is a prominent Japan-based financial services company and joint affiliate of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group and Sumitomo Corporation, offering a comprehensive global suite of leasing and financing solutions ranging from asset and equipment leasing to aircraft and ship finance.
RLFC is the leasing arm of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation and maintains a nationwide presence with five offices in key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
