ACCRALAW served as Philippine counsel to ALDI Süd Group (“ALDI”) in its acquisition of an aggregate minority equity stake in DALI Everyday Grocery (“DALI”). The acquisition was accomplished through a combination of purchase of shares from existing shareholders and subscription of shares in DALI Discount AG. ACCRALAW collaborated with global law firm DLA Piper in the transaction.
ALDI is one of the world’s leading international retailers with more than 7,500 stores in 11 countries. DALI is a fast-growing hard discount grocery retailer operating more than 1,300 stores across the Philippines. The acquisition involves ALDI’s fresh investment in the Philippine market.
ACCRALAW assisted in the due diligence and in the compulsory notification requirements under the Philippine Competition Act. The acquisition was cleared by the Philippine Competition Commission.
