ACCRALAW Iskolar and Violeta Calvo-Drilon Scholarship Awarding Ceremony

ACCRALAW, in cooperation with the ACCRALAW Scholarship Foundation, Inc., ACCRALAW Senior Counsel and Former Senator Hon. Franklin M. Drilon, and the family of the late Violeta Calvo-Drilon, grants anew scholarships to meritorious and deserving students of the University of the Philippines College of Law. The annual scholarship awarding ceremony was held on 1 October 2025 at the Malcolm Hall Theater, U.P. College of Law.

Cicily Isabelle N. Mirasol and Jan Aurel Nikolai M. Castro received the Violeta Calvo-Drilon-ACCRALAW Merit Award as Class 2025 Valedictorian and Philippine Law Journal Chairman for Academic Year 2024-2025, respectively.

The selected ACCRALAW Iskolar awardees for Academic Year 2024-2025 are Prinz Gabriel S. Reynoso (1st year), Ma. Antonetta Pilar T. Setias (2nd year), Jan Cherome M. Sison (3rd year), Raina Rheta S. Galut (4th year), and Kristine T. Aguilar (5th year), and the ACCRALAW-Violeta Calvo-Drilon Scholar is Rubbee B. Panganiban.

In addition to Mr. Drilon, representing ACCRALAW were Managing Partner and Senior Partner Patricia-Ann T. Prodigalidad, Co-Managing Partner and Senior Partner Leland R. Villadolid, Jr., Senior Partner Alex Ferdinand S. Fider, Senior Associate Justine A. Navarro, and Associates Nicole Sean Y. Chiang and Angelica Gabrielle D. Gabinete.

Mr. Drilon gave an inspirational message to the awardees. Ms. Navarro shared her journey as a former recipient of the scholarship and now ACCRALAW lawyer.

Ms. Panganiban, Ms. Galut, and Ms. Mirasol each delivered their responses, while U.P. College of Law Dean Gwen Grecia-De Vera gave a message on behalf of the College.

Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) is a vital part of ACCRALAW’s Journey to Excellence. The Firm pursues excellence not only intellectually but also morally, by fostering a culture of integrity, compassion, and service. In partnership with the ACCRALAW Scholarship Foundation and the family of the late Violeta Calvo Drilon, the Firm established the ACCRALAW–Violeta Calvo–Drilon Scholarship Grants in 2004. This ongoing initiative honors the legacy of its former Senior Partner Atty. Violeta Calvo-Drilon by supporting meritorious students at the U.P. College of Law. Since 2004, more than 170 U.P. College of Law students have been granted ACCRALAW scholarships.

The CSR Department is co-supervised by Mr. Fider, Partner Ma. Khristina Z. Garcia-Angel, Partner Louie John D. Lood, and Partner Christopher Louie D. Ocampo.
