ACCRALAW Associate Kimberly Belle Diet was featured in the 2nd Issue of the 99th Volume of the Philippine Law Journal.
Ms. Diet’s article, “Of Worth and Wages: Reimagining Philippine Loss of Earning Capacity to Include Homemakers and Unpaid Domestic Workers,” examines the eligibility of housewives, househusbands, and unpaid domestic workers to claim loss of earning capacity under Philippine tort law. The article argues that Philippine jurisprudence, comparative legal frameworks, and the capability approach support a more inclusive understanding of actual damages by recognizing loss of housekeeping capacity as compensable economic loss.
Ms. Diet is from the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She handles an array of civil, administrative, and special proceedings cases.
The Philippine Law Journal is the oldest English-language law review in Asia.
