ACCRALAW Holds 2026 Iskolar and Violeta-Calvo Drilon Scholarship Ceremony

On its 25th year of providing scholarships to deserving students of the University Philippines (UP) College of Law, the ACCRALAW Scholarship Foundation, Inc., together with former Senator Franklin M. Drilon, the family of Atty. Violeta Calvo-Drilon, and the UP Law Scholarship Committee, held its annual scholarship awarding ceremony on 5 August 2026 at the Malcolm Hall Theater of the UP College of Law. 

The Violeta Calvo-Drilon-ACCRALAW Merit awardees are Philippine Law Journal Chairman (Vol. 99) Josemaria J. Sebastian, and Class 2026 Valedictorian Isaac Raphael C. Magpantay. 

The ACCRALAW Iskolars are Blaine Vinton S. Cosico, Claremont G. Mercado, Hans Emmanuel H. Monroy, and Aira Francesca B. Lorenzo. 

The ACCRALAW-Violeta Calvo-Drilon scholars are John Rozz SJ. Lapitan, and Rubbee B. Panganiban.

During the ceremony, Senator Drilon delivered an inspirational message to the scholars and awardees. Atty. Leandro Angelo Y. Aguirre, a former ACCRALAW-Violeta Calvo-Drilon scholar and current Undersecretary for Strategic Initiatives and Industry and Competency Development at the Department of Information and Communications Technology, also spoke about his journey as a scholar and public servant.

Meanwhile, Mr. Magpantay, Ms. Lorenzo, and Ms. Panganiban delivered responses on behalf of the scholars. Dean Gwen Grecia-De Vera also delivered a message on behalf of the UP College of Law.

The ACCRALAW Iskolar and Violeta-Calvo Drilon scholarship programs are core components of the Firm’s continuing corporate social responsibility initiatives. The latter honors the legacy of Atty. Violeta Calvo-Drilon, ACCRALAW’s first woman Partner and, later, its first woman Senior Partner.
