ACCRALAW mourns the untimely demise of Jefferson M. Marquez, Senior Partner of ACCRALAW and Resident Partner of the Firm’s Cebu Branch.

Benchmark Asia-Pacific recognized ACCRALAW Senior Partner and Co-Managing Partner Patricia-Ann T. Prodigalidad among its Top 100 Women in Litigation for 2021. This recognition is given to top women litigators who have participated in “some of the most impactful litigation matters in recent history as well as by earning the hard-won respect of their peers and clients.”

ACCRALAW Partner and Head of the Tax Department Eric R. Recalde recently authored an article on prescriptive periods under the National Internal Revenue Code of the Philippines, various fraud penalties, and the concept of false returns.

ACCRALAW’s trademark and patent law practice gain another recognition from IP STARS. ACCRALAW has been ranked as a Tier 1 Firm for Trade Mark and Patent for 2021.

Asian Legal Business (ALB) recognized ACCRALAW Partners Clarence Darrow C. Valdecantos and Erwin Jay V. Filio among the Philippines’ Client Choice Lawyers for 2021. The recognition was given to “top lawyers in the country when it comes to client service.” ALB sought recommendations from clients, including in-house counsel and business decision makers.

In the latest issue of Lawyer Monthly magazine, ACCRALAW Partner Jose Eduardo T. Genilo wrote about the findings of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in its recent Technology Trends 2021 report. The WIPO found significant growth in assistive technology and patent filing activity in Asia.

Teodoro D. Regala, Sr., one of the five founders of ACCRALAW, was known to bring that high-octane energy to meetings or to just about any gathering. He is passionate about law and trivia, which speaks volumes of his many interests.

Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific has recently released its rankings for 2021. The legal publication described ACCRALAW as a “market leader with capability in handling a vast range of complex and high-value disputes”, with a “strong track record acting on high-profile commercial litigation, employment and regulatory disputes.”

We pay tribute to Senator Edgardo J. Angara, one of the founders of our Firm, Angara Abello Concepcion Regala & Cruz Law Offices (ACCRALAW). He died on 13 May 2018.

ACCRALAW contributed the Philippine chapter of The Legal 500’s Comparative Guide on Public Procurement. The team, composed of Partner Melissa G. Velarde, Senior Associate Maria Angeline L. Tayag, and Associates Michael Ryan Natividad and Zyra Frances P. Aquilizan, provided an overview of the procedures on public procurement in the Philippines.
