Mr. Lota advises clients on corporate and intellectual property matters. He has acted as counsel for entities from different industries and has appeared before courts and administrative bodies.
Among his significant transactions are:
- Assisted a company in entering into an Omnibus Loan and Security Agreement for a 172 MW Solar PV Power Plant covering a term loan facility in the aggregate amount of Five Billion Pesos (Php5,000,000,000.00);
- Assisted in a successful trademark opposition case against the “TIMETOME” mark, which the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) determined to be confusingly similar to the well-known “TIMEZONE” mark; and
- Assisted in the filing of the first Madrid Trademark eFiling from the Philippines, which was facilitated live during the 2024 Philippine Trademark Conference.
He has published the legal article, “Revising the Three-Term Rule: Counting Terms with the ‘Two-Thirds’ Standard” [94 PHIL. L.J. 853].
Mr. Lota was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2022 and is a member of the Makati City Chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
