Mr. Yusi has extensive experience in representing individuals and corporations in civil, criminal, and administrative litigation and arbitration proceedings.  He has also advised clients in various matters before the Senate of the Philippines, the House of Representatives, and the Energy Regulatory Commission, among others.

Some of the significant matters handled by Mr. Yusi include:

  • successfully defending directors and corporate officers of a leading universal bank in a suit for unsafe and unsound banking practices before the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas;
  • overturning the execution of a defective final and executory judgment involving a multi-hectare real property in Metro Manila;
  • appearing as counsel for the operator of one of the biggest international airports in the country in an injunction suit filed by a former lessee;
  • appearing as counsel for a NASDAQ-listed company in cases filed in relation to a dispute involving a Philippine construction company;
  • representing a pioneer local digital banking institution in a cross-border contractual dispute with a Singapore-based counterparty; and
  • advising an expert witness in a case before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York concerning the corporate veil piercing of a Forbes-listed business tycoon.

Mr. Yusi served as Chair of the Philippine Law Journal from 2020 to 2021. In 2022, he received the ACCRALAW-Violeta Calvo Drilon Merit Award for Legal Writing.

He represented the Philippines in the 2019-20 Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition in Oxford, United Kingdom (via videoconference), where he was awarded as one of the best oralists.

He has published several journal articles, including:

  • “Fake News in the Time of the Pandemic” [Special Online Feature 93 Phil. L.J. 238 (2020)];

  • “Tearing Down the Great Wall: Re-examining the Right to Privacy with Respect to the State Action Doctrine” [93 Phil L.J. 885 (2020)];

  • “Untethering the Widow(er): The Case Against Article 874 of the Civil Code” [95 Phil L.J. 130 (2022)]; and

  • “Cyberbullying as Actionable Tort” [95 Phil. L.J. 605 (2022)].

He also co-authored the Philippine chapter of the 2024-25 International Comparative Legal Guide on Anti-Money Laundering.

Mr. Yusi was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2022 and is a member of the Makati City Chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
