On March 8, 2019, the University of the Philippines Women Lawyers’ Circle (UP WILOCI) hosted a conference entitled “Eye on 20/20: What Philippine Businesses Need to Focus On for 2020” at the UP Bonifacio Global City Auditorium. Among the topics covered was the revised Corporation Code and the Atty. Teresita J. Herbosa, Former Chairperson, Securities and Exchange Commission, discussed the salient points. She was the Firm’s Co-Managing Partner before she joined government.
The other speakers from government were Department of Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III and Assistant Secretary Antonio G. Lambino II and Department of Labor and Employment Assistant Secretary Benjo Santos M. Benavidez. Mr. Smith L. Chua, the Chief Investment Officer of BPI Asset Management and Trust Corporation and Atty. Anthony A. Abad, Chairman for the Philippines, Commission on Competition, International Chamber of Commerce also participated as speakers.
UP WILOCI is a non-stock, non-profit organization dedicated to public service. Its members are women lawyers who completed their law degree from the UP College of Law. The Firm’s lawyers, who are UP WILOCI members, actively participate in this organization. Among UP WILOCI’s Past Presidents are the Firm’s leading lawyers, namely, the late Violeta Calvo-Drilon, Regina P. Geraldez and Ana Lourdes Teresa Arnaldo-Oracion.
