Since 2016, ACCRALAW, through its Davao Branch, has supported the Mentor Micro Entrepreneur (ME) Program of the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-Go Negosyo. Implemented in line with Republic Act No. 10644 (the Go Negosyo Act), the Mentor ME Program involves mentoring and coaching of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on different modules, including Business Law (Obligations and Contracts). The Mentor ME Program aims to promote inclusive growth through the establishment and improvement of MSMEs for trade and job creation.
The Resident Partner of the Davao Branch, Myra S. Montecalvo-Quilatan, and the other lawyers, Genie Celini D. Nuevo and Martin Luigi G. Samson, served as mentors for the Business Law module.
For this year, as accredited mentors, Attys. Montecalvo-Quilatan, Nuevo and Samon conducted the Business Law module last 22 May 2019 in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley Province; on 30 May 2019 in Mati City, Davao Oriental; on 6 June 2019 in Tagum City; and on 13 June 2019 in Davao City. They will also lecture in Digos City on 18 July 2019.
