ACCRALAW Authors Arbitration Article in Asia Business Law Journal

ACCRALAW Senior Partner Jose Martin R. Tensuan, Partner Antonio Eduardo S. Nachura, Jr., and Senior Associate Maria Celia H. Poblador authored an article on arbitration which was featured in Asia Business Law Journal on 2 October 2024.

In the article entitled Dynamic Arbitration Advancements in the Philippines, Mr. Tensuan, Mr. Nachura, and Ms. Poblador discussed recent Supreme Court decisions upholding the nature of arbitration and affirming the jurisdiction and authority of the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (“CIAC”) over construction disputes.

They discussed the Supreme Court rulings in Public Estates Authority v. Sy, Jr, Republic of the Philippines vs. Pascual, DHY Realty & Development Corporation v. Court of Appeals, and Playinn Inc. v. Prudential Guarantee and Assurance Inc.

Mr. Tensuan, Mr. Nachura, and Ms. Poblador are from the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and actively handle commercial and construction disputes.

Mr. Tensuan is also the Monitor of the Firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Group.
