ACCRALAW at the Philippine Institute of Construction Arbitrators and Mediators Conference on Climate Change

ACCRALAW was a Platinum Sponsor at the recent conference of the Philippine Institute of Construction Arbitrators and Mediators (PICAM), “Earth, Wind and Fire: Deconstructing Construction Through the Elements of Climate, Law, Technology and Finance” held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bonifacio Global City last 10 March 2025.

ACCRALAW Senior Partner and PICAM Trustee and Treasurer, Jose Martin R. Tensuan, co-moderated the panel on “Climate Change and Construction Sector (Problems, Challenges, and Prospects)”. With him in the panel were Atty. Jiggs Paraiso, Climate Change Commission Deputy Executive Director Romell Antonio Cuenca, Environmental Planner and Consultant Architect Armando Alli, as well as FTI Consulting Singapore Managing Director for Construction Solutions, Mr. Andy Oddie. During the panel, the effects of extreme weather events on the construction sector were discussed. It was pointed out that these effects need to be mitigated through, among others, greater public and private stakeholder collaboration through integrated legal, administrative, engineering, and climate strategies.

ACCRALAW Managing Partner and PICAM Trustee and Corporate Secretary, Patricia-Ann T. Prodigalidad, attended the event and gave out plaques of appreciation to the conference speakers.
