ACCRALAW Partner Christopher Louie D. Ocampo, along with other members of Meritas’ Emerging Leaders of Asia, presented a study on how lawyers in the Asian region carry out business development in their respective jurisdictions. The presentation was delivered at the Asia Regional Meeting of Meritas held in Bali, Indonesia on 24 August 2024.
The study conducted by Mr. Ocampo and his colleagues was supported by survey results from 222 lawyers from 12 jurisdictions in Asia, particularly China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. It touched upon the questions of, among others, whether business development skills are innate or developed; whether in-person programs and activities are more effective than virtual ones; and whether intra-firm networking delivers more results than external networking.
Mr. Ocampo is the Co-Chair of Meritas’ Emerging Leaders of Asia. He is likewise a member of the Emerging Leaders Advisory Board of Meritas. Meritas is the premiere global alliance of 184 top-ranking law firms across 91 countries. ACCRALAW is a Meritas member firm.
