On 18 March 2022, ACCRALAW’s George S. D. Aquino was interviewed at the “The Mike Acuña Podcast” on the topic of Cyberlibel and Fake News. Podcast host, Mike Acuña conducted the interview which touched on the relevant topics of the rights of free speech vis-à-vis cyberlibel and the dangers of, and remedies against, fake news spread through social media and other means.
Mr. Aquino is a Partner of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and is a Professor of Remedial Law at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law. He has handled various litigation cases including libel and cyberlibel cases, cases involving consumer protection and product liability, commercial disputes, white collar crimes and cases involving violation of laws under the anti graft and corrupt practices act, in over 20 years as a practitioner.
