The Philippine Bar Association (“PBA”) is the oldest voluntary national organization of lawyers in the Philippines. It was established in 1891. Among its members are lawyers of the Firm.

In the recently concluded elections of the Board of Trustees for 2020 – 2021, the Firm’s Chrysilla Carissa P. Bautista was elected as Trustee.

Real Estate Law Experts named Regis V. Puno, ACCRALAW Of Counsel, as the expert for this field in the Philippines.

ACCRALAW acted as Philippine counsel to the joint lead managers (JLMs) for AEV International Pte. Ltd.’s (AEV Intl) issuance of USD400 Million unsecured Notes. The notes are unrated, have a fixed coupon rate of 4.2% payable semi-annually and are unconditionally and irrevocably guaranteed by AEV Intl’s parent company, Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. The notes are listed on the Singapore Exchange.

ACCRALAW Senior Associate Christopher Louie D. Ocampo was awarded as the Young Lawyer of the Year at the recently concluded 5th Annual Philippine Law Awards of the Asian Legal Business (ALB). He was chosen among fourteen (14) finalists who were shortlisted after a nomination and selection process.

During the Asian Legal Business Philippine Law Awards held online on 20 November 2020, ACCRALAW was awarded the Arbitration Law Firm of the Year.

During the Asian Legal Business’ Philippine Law Awards, ACCRALAW was awarded the Tax and Trusts Law Firm for the Year for 2020. ACCRALAW’s tax advisory and litigation practice is steadily growing.

The Asian Legal Business (ALB) recognizes the top tier law firms and in-house teams in different jurisdictions. Last 20 November 2020, the ALB held the Philippine Law Awards and among the awards given to ACCRALAW is the Litigation Law Firm of the Year.

The In-House Community eCongress Philippines was successfully held on 18, 24 and 25 November 2020. It is the In-House Community’s 7th annual forum in the Philippines.

Upon the invitation of the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Engineering, ACCRALAW Senior Partner Patricia-Ann T. Prodigalidad and Partner Chrysilla Carissa P. Bautista joined the panel on “Forensic Engineering and Litigation”. Ms. Prodigalidad and Ms. Bautista currently teach Evidence and Criminal Procedure, respectively, in the UP College of Law. Also in the panel is Atty. Sandra Olaso-Coronel, a fellow faculty from the UP College of Law.

ACCRALAW assisted Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) in the first real estate investment trust (REIT) offering in the Philippines and acted as Philippine counsel to AREIT, Inc. (AREIT) in its initial public offering of 456,883,000 common shares, with an overallotment option of 45,688,700 common shares. On 13 August 2020, AREIT’s shares were listed on The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc.
