ACCRALAW’s Of Counsel Eusebio V. Tan participated at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines’ (CanCham) Business Briefing on the CREATE Bill. CREATE is the acronym for the bill entitled “Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises”. The seminar was held virtually and was attended by CanCham’s members and guests.
The CREATE Bill seeks to lower corporate income tax rates and rationalize fiscal incentives.
Among the advocacies of CanCham is to support and promote Canada-Philippines business interests. Thus, with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, the discussion by business leaders, economists, and lawyers on the CREATE Bill was timely.
Mr. Tan possesses an in-depth knowledge and keen understanding of foreign investments in the Philippines. He provides commercially sound and strategic advice to foreign clients who seek to expand their business in the Philippines and in the Asia-Pacific region.
Mr. Tan served as the Firm’s Managing Partner and also took on the roles of Head of the Corporate and Special Projects Department and Head of the Retainer Department.
The CREATE Bill was submitted to the Office of the President last 3 February 2021.
