Ms. Bustamante specializes in government procurement, public-private partnership arrangements, mergers and acquisitions, and contracts.
She has handled the following significant transactions:
- Represented bidders in election-related procurements of the Commission on Elections and a frigate acquisition project of the Department of National Defense;
- Assisted a real estate development company in a tourism infrastructure project of a local government unit in Visayas, under the city’s Public Private Partnership Code;
- Advised a private utility company in connection with its unsolicited proposal to a water district in Region VI under the 2013 NEDA Joint Venture Guidelines;
She has also acted as counsel for either seller or buyer in transactions involving acquisition of shares in various companies, and the sale and purchase of land and condominium units.
Before she became a lawyer, she worked for seven (7) years at the Manila Water Company, Inc., where she held various management positions involving business operations, corporate governance, and enterprise risk management.
She obtained a Certificate in Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management (UK) in 2012.
She co-authored a paper entitled “Insider Trading in the Philippines: Constitutional and Other Legal Issues on Imposing Civil and Criminal Liability on Insiders for Short-Swing Profits and Insider Trading Violations,” which was awarded the Gonzalo Santos Jr. Prize for Best Paper in Securities Law by the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2013.
Ms. Bustamante was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2014. She is a member of the Cebu City Chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Federacion International de Abogadas and the University of the Philippines Women Lawyers’ Circle.
