Capping the ACCRALAW Business Law Forum held last 4 October 2019 was the launching of the book, “The Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines: Its Theories and Applications”. It was co-authored by Teresita J. Herbosa and Eric R. Recalde.

The recently conducted its annual business law forum for its clients and friends. As described by Managing Partner Emerico O. De Guzman, “This forum is a regular initiative of ACCRALAW to tackle relevant legal issues and provide significant legal developments affecting business and industry”.

Mr. Villadolid talked about the legal solutions that may be utilized by banks and financial institutions to safeguard personal information of their customers while at the same time share information in order to prevent and/or combat cyber security threats to their respective institutions.

Mr. Gaba served as one of the Panelists during the Summit’s session on Data Breach and Security Incidents. He shared with the participants his experience handling various data privacy-related complaints, and security incidents and breach cases.

ACCRALAW lawyers Christopher Louie D. Ocampo and Paula P. Plaza co-authored the ASEAN Fintech Ecosystem Benchmarking Study. This study was jointly produced by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School, the Asian Development Bank Institute and FinTechSpace.

Our Firm’s John Paul M. Gaba, a Partner of the Intellectual Property Department, delivered a lecture on the Data Privacy Act (DPA) before the officers and members of Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Cubao District 3780 last 19 September 2019 held in Quezon City.

ACCRALAW was awarded during Benchmark Litigation’s Asia-Pacific Awards for 2019 as the Law Firm of the Year for the Philippines. The Firm’s Senior Partner Francisco Ed. Lim was also awarded as Lawyer of the Year for the Philippines.

John Paul M. Gaba, a Partner of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department, delivered a lecture on the “Right to Privacy in the Digital Age & the Philippine Data Privacy Act “during the 21st National Convention of the Metropolitan & City Judges Association of the Philippines (“METCJAP”) in Dumaguete City last 12 September 2019.

On 5 September 2019, a team representing the Firm’s Labor and Employment Department consisting of Emerico O. de Guzman, Joy Anne C. Leong-Pambid, and Franchesca Abigail C. Gesmundo shared their insights during the panel discussion entitled “Significant Updates in Labor Law” during the 2019 In-House Congress.
