ACCRALAW is the undisputed leader in Philippine litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). It has a deep bench of litigators and ADR practitioners with a consistent and outstanding track record. Its team of litigators and ADR practitioners has extensive expertise in handling large-scale and complex disputes. It has unmatched trial experience in Philippine courts, including the Supreme Court, and in many administrative agencies as well as ADR fora. The Firm has contributed to Philippine jurisprudence by successfully representing clients in landmark legal controversies not only in the recent past but throughout its more than 45 years of existence.
The Firm’s pre-eminence in dispute resolution is due mainly to the structured and hands-on training of its young lawyers who every year are recruited from among the top graduates of the best law schools of the country, and the wide areas of expertise and the varied experience of its more senior lawyers. The Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department (LDRD) has compiled handbooks on every aspect of litigation, from a uniform system of citation, to the formal and procedural requirements applicable to appellate practice, for internal use. Most of its lawyers have completed postgraduate studies abroad, while several are professorial lecturers or faculty members of the top Philippine law schools, or active in both domestic and international lecture circuits, and others, mostly partners, have been commissioned by the Supreme Court as members of committees formed to undertake the revision of the rules of court and draw up new rules in connection with the practice of law. The LDRD conducts at least two in-house training seminars and retreats a year and encourages its associates to specialize in emerging fields of law. Despite its large number of lawyers, the LDRD is able to function in a cohesive and effective manner through the implementation of the team system for each and every matter handled, which system ACCRALAW has adopted since inception, setting the trend for other law firms.
In 2020, ACCRALAW was also recognized by the Asian Legal Business as the Arbitration Law Firm of the Year and the Litigation Law Firm of the Year.
