On 21 June 2023, ACCRALAW hosted an Appreciation Dinner at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La The Fort, Taguig City. It was the culminating activity of the Firm’s year-long celebration of its 50th Anniversary. The event was attended by the Firm’s Partners, Of Counsel, and Senior Associates, valued clients, and other distinguished guests.

In line with its commitment to corporate social responsibility, ACCRALAW concluded the year-long celebration of its golden anniversary with a donation to Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation, Inc. (TNK).

ACCRALAW acted as counsel to the Joint Lead Underwriters and Joint Bookrunners, BDO Capital & Investment Corporation, China Bank Capital Corporation, BPI Capital Corporation, East West Banking Corporation, First Metro Investment Corporation, RCBC Capital Corporation, and SB Capital Investment Corporation in connection with the issuance by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (“SM Prime”) of Php33.3 Billion Peso-denominated Series S, T, and U fixed rate bonds.

ACCRALAW acted as Philippine counsel to HC Philippines Holdings B.V., in connection with the sale of HC Consumer Finance Philippines, Inc. (“Home Credit Philippines”) and its affiliate companies HCPH Financing 1, Inc. and HCPH Insurance Brokerage, Inc, to Bank of Ayudhya PCL, the fifth largest financial group in Thailand, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, a global financial leader from Japan.

ACCRALAW’s Senior Partner Judy Hao was awarded by The Legal 500 as the Regional Leading Lawyer of the Year at its recent Southeast Asia Awards 2023. The awarding ceremony was a black-tie event held at The Pan Pacific Singapore last 11 May 2023.

On 12 May 2023, a forum entitled, “Financial Inclusion for Women, Water and Climate Resilience” was held at Fairmont Hotel, Makati City. The forum was led by Water.org and co-sponsored by ACCRALAW, Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX), and Forest Foundation.

ACCRALAW announces the selection of the following law students to participate in its Internship Program for 2023

ACCRALAW participated in the IBP Makati City Chapter’s Free Legal Aid Clinic. Last 3 May 2023, ACCRALAW Associates Sittie Namraidah L. Ali, Aloysius Francis M. Bresnan, Aleli Joyce H. Bucu, and Nepomuceno M. Mendoza III advised Makati City residents on different concerns from contract issues to criminal cases.

ACCRALAW acted as Philippine counsel for the Sole Global Coordinator, Lead Manager and Bookrunner, UBS AG Singapore Branch, in connection with the US$20 Million 7.25% Senior Guaranteed Notes due 2025 issued by DDPC Worldwide Pte. Ltd. (the “Issuer”) on 28 March 2023 and guaranteed by DoubleDragon Corporation.

ACCRALAW Of Counsel Teresita J. Herbosa was among the examiners appointed for the Commercial Law core subject, along with Atty. Jose Perpetuo M. Lotilla and Prof. Maria Zarah R. Villanueva, following the Supreme Court’s three-examiner policy.
