ACCRALAW actively participates in the different activities of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (“IBP”) Makati City Chapter, including its institutionalized free legal aid to indigent residents of Makati City.

On 28 July 2023, ACCRALAW Partner and Head of the Tax Department Eric R. Recalde, Senior Associate Fatima Faye E. Cordova, and Associates Kevin John B. Lumbre and Kaye Geozen T. Ebuengan met with Philippine Economic Zone Authority (“PEZA”) Director General Tereso O. Panga and his team at the PEZA Headquarters in Pasay City.

ACCRALAW’s Cebu Branch held its annual legal forum last 5 July 2023 at the Cebu City Sports Club, Cebu Business Park. It was attended by 135 participants from the leading local and multinational companies in Cebu and the region.

On 5 July 2023, the Philippines’ first gender notes were issued. ASA Philippines Foundation, Inc. (“ASA Philippines”) issued Php5 Billion worth of corporate notes under the Social Bond Principles 2021 of the International Capital Markets Association and in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Guidelines on the Issuance of Social Bonds under the ASEAN Social Bonds Standards in the Philippines.

On 21 June 2023, ACCRALAW hosted an Appreciation Dinner at the Grand Ballroom of Shangri-La The Fort, Taguig City. It was the culminating activity of the Firm’s year-long celebration of its 50th Anniversary. ACCRALAW acted as counsel to the Joint Lead Underwriters and Joint Bookrunners, BDO Capital & Investment Corporation, China Bank Capital Corporation, BPI Capital Corporation, East West Banking Corporation, First Metro Investment Corporation, RCBC Capital Corporation, and SB Capital Investment Corporation in connection with the issuance by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (“SM Prime”) of Php33.3 Billion Peso-denominated Series S, T, and U fixed rate bonds.

ACCRALAW acted as Philippine counsel to HC Philippines Holdings B.V., in connection with the sale of HC Consumer Finance Philippines, Inc. (“Home Credit Philippines”) and its affiliate companies HCPH Financing 1, Inc. and HCPH Insurance Brokerage, Inc, to Bank of Ayudhya PCL, the fifth largest financial group in Thailand, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, a global financial leader from Japan.
